Why Paying To Build Your Social Media Profiles Doesn’t Work

Is it really worth your money to pay to obtain followers and fans on your social media profiles? Some might say yes, whilst others will tell you it’s a definite waste of money. In the last couple of weeks Facebook has come under heavy fire from page users who have paid to increase their reach. They have found that the more likes they got the less engagement they received from their fans.

Does that make any sense to you? Shouldn’t it be the opposite? One would think that the more fans you have the greater your reach and engagement would be. So why is it the other way around? Is it possible, there are as many scammers and fake pages on Facebook as there are real users?

The whole purpose of social media was to connect real people together across the world. It wasn’t about getting fake likes, spamming people with sales content or using software to do your job for you.

With click farms growing across the world, is it any wonder that businesses owners are beginning to question the necessity of using social media to improve sales and reach more customers. So how do you get around this problem and build your social media presence naturally?

1.    Connect with people you know personally
2.    Make sure that people know you are a real person
3.    Don’t share content that could be considered spam or a sales pitch
4.    Provide good content that is informative and appealing to your fans
5.  Don’t spread yourself too thin by trying to be on a multitude of social media platforms – choose 5 maximum
6. Change things up and share content from other sites that are related to yours, this kind of cross promotion can help you and other business owners
7.    Keep it real

If you follow these few simple steps it will help you build good relationships with others. People are getting sick of being spammed, scammed and sold a whole bunch of stuff they don’t need. It’s a very exciting time on the internet right now. Businesses that genuinely care about their customers and are honest will rise to the top once again. Make sure that you are part of that crowd, because truth and honesty are going to become popular once again.

Warning: Attorneys Love Social Media Sites

Now more than ever you have to be very careful about what you say. The vast majority of people who engage in social media are beginning to realize that it has a down side. What was once a fun way to connect people across the world has become one of the biggest tools used by attorneys around the world!

This is one of the main reasons that you must be very cautious about the content that is posted to your business sites. If you have a social media manager handling that side of things for you, make sure they know what they are doing. As the owner of these sites, you will be liable for the content that is posted there.

Fear of litigation is one of the biggest concerns for business owners who use social media platforms. It’s just too easy for people to vent on social media, regardless of whether or not those claims are true. Is it any wonder that lots of business owners are becoming increasingly disillusioned with social media?

Competition is now very steep and any business that doesn't provide their customers with a good experience will pay the price. So what can you do about it?

·       Don’t make claims or promises that you can’t keep
·       Know what is being posted to your sites
·       If you get a complaint don’t ignore it, respond to it in a timely manner
·       Provide your customers with quality content so they will stick around
·       Stay focused on building your brand and your reputation

If you do these things then you will find that Social media can be your friend and not your foe. On the other hand if it’s too much for you then you can you need always hire someone to help you.

Why LinkedIn Should Be Part of Your Marketing Strategy

LinkedIn is fast approaching 300 million users worldwide and is growing by 2 members ever second. With that kind of growth it won’t be long before it catches up with some of the biggest social media platforms on the planet. That makes LinkedIn one of the most important networks for any professional to join.

With over 64% of all corporate website traffic via social media coming from LinkedIn, it’s the place for business people to be. If you don’t have a LinkedIn account already then you need to get one ASAP. Once you do this it isn’t hard to build your profile and become known as an authority on LinkedIn.

You become an authority by joining a few of their professional networking groups. This gives you the ability to network with those who will be most interested in your services. Networking gives you the ability to build great relationships with other professionals that will benefit you for years to come.

There’s one more really good reason to get involved with LinkedIn; content marketing is about to become a big part of their growing platform. LinkedIn has essentially given its users their own on-site blogging platform. Imagine creating a blog and having it spread across the world’s largest social media network for professionals. That takes a huge amount of work out of the equation. Creating good content is one thing, getting out and in front of a captive audience is another.

Of course if it all seems like too much work, you could always hire a social media consultant to help you. Good consultants know how to create good content and keep all of your profiles up-to-date. Is Facebook Playing Cat and Mouse With YOU?

Have you got a great Facebook fan page? Have you spent countless hours building your fan page by providing really good content? Maybe you are in the process of building a fan page and are frustrated that it seems to be going nowhere. You are not alone, this scenario is happening to page administrator’s right across Facebook.

Before Facebook went public in 2012 it was the place to be. It was user friendly, good for business and a great way to get brand recognition. It was a cheap way to sell products, provide services and interact with your customers in real time. Sadly this is no longer the case. Facebook must now keep its stockholders happy if it wants to survive. It’s the reason they have been pushing paid ads so heavily.

What does Facebook promise you when you advertise with them? Increased Likes, Reach and customer engagement are just a few of the perks. What do Facebook users think about their new strategy? They are fed up with the constant changes and being spammed by content they don’t want to see.

The company Eat24 is just one example of how fed up people are becoming with Facebook. On April 1, 2014, Eat24 quit Facebook over the changes to Facebook’s Newsfeed algorithm.  They sent a letter to Facebook and were basically told to get used to it, that’s how things were going to be from now on.

So what can you do about it? Message the fans on your page and tell them what is going on. Ask them to go to your page and right click on the “Like” button until a drop down box appears, then select “Get Notifications”. This will make sure that your posts appear in their Newsfeed. You can also encourage your fans to follow you on other social media platforms like Google+, Twitter, your blog and Pinterest.

The other alternative is to hire a social media manager and get them to take care of all these headaches for you. It’s a lot of work running a business, let alone trying to keep up with all the changes that occur in Social Media on a regular basis. To find out more please follow the link below:

The coming months will be very interesting for businesses trying to maintain their status on social media platforms like Facebook. Businesses who don’t have a dedicated social media manager may find themselves further behind the eight ball than they were before. What do you think? Will marketing via social media get harder for the average person or will it balance itself out? Please let me know your thoughts by leaving your comments below.

Forget SEO, Social Media IS The Way To Go!

Hi there, my name is Naomi Hunter and I would like you to join me on my journey, as I launch a new Social Media Marketing business. With over ten years experience as a small business owner, I know how hard it can be to juggle several tasks at the same time. There just aren't enough hours in the day to do it all.

I have also worked for one of the world's largest training organizations, where new businesses owners learned the value of good customer service, marketing and sales. One of the major concerns that new business owners have is in finding the time to market and run their business at the same time. It's one of the main reasons that I decided to launch this service.

Taking care of face-to-face marketing is one thing, knowing how to market online is another. Social media is where all the traffic is at. Forget SEO it's too hard to stay at the top of the search engines that way. People don't want to be sold, they want to be told. What does that mean? Simple, customers now have more power than ever before. People want to know if others have had a good or bad experience before they will commit to buying anything.

If potential customers can't find you or worse find a bad review, your business will suffer. So what can you do to ensure that this doesn't happen to you?

Hire someone who genuinely cares about you and your business. Someone who understands how hard you work and wants to make sure that all that effort pays off. For a very limited time you can get help with your social media needs at a very reasonable price. Please go to this link to find out more: http://www.fiverr.com/socialnaomi

I also encourage those starting out in the Social Media Marketing Industry to follow this blog. I will dedicate at least 1 hour of research a day to bring you the latest tips and tricks to use for Social Media Marketing. We will also keep an eye on the latest trends in social media so that you can stay ahead of the curve.

Cheers
Social Naomi
